Job summary

Autosyn Group Pty Ltd – Chipping Norton NSW is seeking a Senior Draftsperson to produce high-quality shop drawings and lead the drafting function, mentoring an in-house drafter. You will set the standard for drawings, manage approvals with builders and architects, and ensure accurate, approved drawings are delivered on time.

5+ years in architectural metalwork drafting, strong AutoCAD skills, and knowledge of NCC/BCA requirements are essential.

Qualifications

5+ years' drafting/detailing experience in architectural metalwork or similar fabrication.
Strong AutoCAD skills; Tekla, Inventor or SolidWorks is an advantage.
Sound knowledge of NCC / BCA requirements for balustrades and stairs.
Experience checking other drafters' work and mentoring a team.
Clear communicator in English, written and spoken.
Mandarin speaking highly regarded.

Responsibilities

Prepare shop and fabrication drawings for balustrades, handrails, stairs, screens, louvres, gates, and other architectural metalwork.
Lead the drafting team: allocate work, set priorities and deadlines, mentor the in-house drafter.
Interpret architectural and structural drawings; raise and resolve RFIs with builders, architects and engineers.
Manage the drawing approval process and drawing registers, and track revisions.
Produce cutting lists, part drawings and files for fabrication (e.g. laser / CNC), working closely with the workshop.
Work with the Project Coordinator / Estimator and the Director on take-offs, programs and project priorities.
Attend site measures and site meetings as required.
Continuously improve drafting templates, standards and workflows.
