Job summary

Deus Ex Machina Motorcycles is seeking an experienced apparel designer to lead the design and development of seasonal unisex collections, focusing on silhouette, proportion and fabrication, and carrying designs from concept to production approval.

You will collaborate with the merchandiser, creative direction and production teams to interpret direction and translate it into commercially relevant product, while aligning with factory costings and fittings.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience in apparel design, including concept through production.
• Portfolio demonstrating range-building and attention to detail.
• Thorough understanding of garment construction, fabrics, fit, washes and finishing.
• Experience with unisex silhouettes, proportions and styling.
• Advanced proficiency in Illustrator and Photoshop for CAD and tech packs.
• Ability to balance creative direction with commercial needs.
• Clear communication and ability to manage overlapping timelines.

Responsibilities

• Develop seasonal research and concepts into cohesive collections.
• Design across silhouette, fit, colour, fabrication, trims and finishing.
• Work within range architecture established by merchandising for cohesiveness.
• Develop and refine designs from concepts to final approvals.
• Collaborate with graphics to integrate artwork into the collection.
• Prepare detailed CADs, technical drawings and tech packs.
• Liaise with factories for costings, sampling and production queries.
• Review samples, attend fittings and provide precise development feedback.
• Address costing, sourcing and construction challenges while protecting design intent.
• Collaborate with merchandising to review sales performance and opportunities.
• Styling and outfitting the collection for campaigns and shoots.
• Present collections and communicate references and decisions.
• Manage deadlines with the wider team and resolve issues early.
