Job summary

Commonwealth Bank Of Australia seeks a Lead Data Engineer to own and deliver data pipelines for Transaction Monitoring and financial crime initiatives. You will lead a small team, contribute to the codebase, and set engineering standards across cloud and on-premises patterns.

You will work across Snowflake, dbt, IBM StreamSets and related technologies, building scalable, well‑controlled data solutions while guiding senior stakeholders and shaping technical direction.

Qualifications

• Senior or lead data engineer with hands-on delivery experience.
• Advanced SQL and cloud data platforms, ideally Snowflake.
• Proven dbt experience including models and tests.
• Technical leadership with code reviews and standards.
• Experience across cloud and on-prem data patterns.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, deploy and support data engineering solutions.
• Line-manage a small team of 3–4 engineers, analysts and QAs.
• Lead ASB data engineering initiatives and contribute code.
• Establish engineering standards for coding, testing and deployment.
• Translate requirements into end-to-end technical solutions.
