Job summary

Talent in Victoria seeks a Lead Data Engineer for a 12-month contract with a federal government client. You will lead design and optimization of data warehouse platforms, mentor data teams, and drive data integration initiatives.

Responsibilities include delivering scalable data solutions using MS SQL, Teradata, Snowflake, Redshift or Databricks, and applying Python, SAS, R or Java. Australian citizen status and baseline clearance are preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years in a similar data engineering role.
• Experience with data warehouse design and data integration.
• Strong SQL skills and ability to reverse-engineer end-user SQL.
• Exposure to AWS Cloud services (S3, Glue) or similar.
• Certifications in cloud platforms or data management are advantageous.
• Excellent communication and collaboration across cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and optimization of data warehouse platforms.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to data teams.
• Drive data integration projects and ensure system performance.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to develop scalable data solutions.
• Demonstrate competency in MS SQL, Teradata, Snowflake, Redshift or Databricks.
• Read and interpret data models and specifications.
