Job summary

Bankwest is seeking a Principal Data Engineer to shape the architecture connecting enterprise customer data with marketing technology. You’ll lead an engineering effort spanning data, customer intelligence and activation, and stay hands-on to validate designs.

You will define scalable patterns between Snowflake, dbt and marketing platforms, establish data governance boundaries, and mentor engineers while partnering with privacy, security and architecture teams to enable trusted customer

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading architecture for enterprise‑scale Martech or customer engagement platforms.
• Experience with modern cloud data platforms (Snowflake preferred; Databricks/BigQuery/Redshift) and dbt.
• Experience with customer data platforms, identity resolution and data products.
• Ability to influence stakeholders across multiple teams.

Responsibilities

• Set the technical direction for customer data and marketing technology architecture.
• Define scalable data movement patterns between Snowflake and marketing platforms.
• Establish boundaries between enterprise data and marketing tech and implement business logic appropriately.
• Design reusable approaches for profiles, attributes, events, audiences and activation.
• Guide batch, near-real-time, streaming and event-driven integration patterns.
• Establish engineering standards for data quality, lineage, observability and testing.
• Collaborate with Marketing, Data, Architecture, Privacy, Risk, Security and engineering teams.
• Lead architecture reviews and mentor engineers while solving complex problems.
