Job summary

Talent Insights Group is partnering with a large Insurance business to appoint an experienced Lead Data Analyst for a 12-24 month contract. The role focuses on leading data discovery across internal and external datasets and turning business needs into implementation-ready data specifications for engineers.

You will drive data profiling, mappings, data dictionaries, and data contracts, working with data engineers on ingestion, migration, and validation across cloud and on-premises environments.

Qualifications

• Extensive data discovery, profiling and analysis experience in ICT, digital transformation or data delivery.
• Strong hands-on SQL and contemporary analysis tools (e.g. Python, notebooks).
• Proven experience producing source-to-target mappings, data contracts and business rules.
• End-to-end data lifecycle experience: migration, initial and incremental loads, validation and reconciliation.
• Clear communicator who can work with business stakeholders, engineers, architects and testers.
• Government or regulated-sector experience highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Lead data discovery and profiling across datasets to understand structure, quality, lineage and fitness for purpose.
• Develop source-to-target mappings, data dictionaries, data contracts, transformation rules and matching logic.
• Use SQL to investigate data quality issues and define cleansing, de-duplication and reconciliation approaches.
• Partner with data engineers on ingestion, integration and migration across cloud and on-premises environments.
• Validate loads, reconcile source and target data, and support defect and production issue resolution.
• Communicate data risks and recommendations to delivery teams and senior stakeholders.
