Job summary

Softtest pays pty ltd in Sydney, Australia seeks an EL1 Data Analyst to provide specialist data analysis, data discovery and data delivery support for ICT programs.

You will work with business owners, data engineers and testers across the data lifecycle, translating business needs into data requirements, mappings and rules.

Collaborate on data pipelines, profiling, validation and dashboards; deliver clear outputs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead data discovery and profiling across complex internal and external datasets to understand structure, content, quality and lineage.
• Identify required data with stakeholders; clarify business meaning; define data requirements and data contracts.
• Develop and maintain source-to-target mappings, data dictionaries, field definitions and transformation rules.
• Analyse data using SQL to identify duplicates, outliers, nulls and data quality concerns.
• Propose cleansing, standardising and transforming options; plan loads and refresh processes.
• Translate mappings and business rules into implementable ingestion and transformation logic with proper traceability.
• Support data pipelines, bulk ingestion, system integrations and data refreshes across environments.
• Create reusable datasets, SQL queries, analytical code and notebooks enabling profiling and testing.
• Validate data against mappings and contracts; investigate failed loads and defects.
• Work with testers to develop test scenarios and ensure traceability from requirements.
