Job summary

The West Australian Symphony Orchestra (WASO) is seeking a Crescendo Lead to drive the Crescendo Program at Medina and North Parmelia Primary Schools. You will lead a teaching artist team, deliver high-quality music education, and coordinate planning, reporting and stakeholder engagement to benefit children and families in the Kwinana community.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in music education, youth development or community arts programs.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor and support a teaching team.
• Strong program planning and organisational skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
• Experience working with children and families from diverse backgrounds.
• Collaborative, flexible and solutions-focused approach.
• Strong administrative and reporting capabilities.
• Commitment to child safety and wellbeing.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate all aspects of the Crescendo program.
• Develop and mentor a team of Crescendo Teaching Artists.
• Deliver high-quality musicianship and music education outcomes.
• Plan, administer and report on program activities.
• Engage with schools, families and community partners.
• Create scholarship pathways and student development opportunities.
• Coordinate events and performances.
• Evaluate and continuously improve program delivery.
• Manage resources, instruments and budgets with health and safety in mind.
