Catholic Education Western Australia Limited is seeking a Coordinator Catechist Services to lead the Catechist Services team within the Religious Education directorate and deliver formation, training and resources for parish-based religious education programs.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Theology, Religious Education, Scripture or related discipline.
• Significant senior leadership experience in Catholic education, parish ministry or faith formation.
• Excellent communication, strategic thinking and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to engage diverse stakeholders and empower catechists.
• Prepared to support the Catholic ethos in the performance of duties.
• Demonstrated commitment to the Catholic faith and active participation in the community.

Responsibilities

• Commitment to, promotion of and nurturing the Catholic faith and Tradition.
• Leading the work of the Catechist team.
• Providing strategic leadership for the Catechist team.
• Coordinating and consulting with Parish Priests and Catechist Coordinators who organise and conduct the Parish Religious Education Program.
• Providing opportunities for initial and ongoing training in religious education, pedagogy and faith formation for Catechists.
• Developing curriculum and resources for passing on the faith.
• Representing CEWA and Catechist Services at Archdiocesan and national forums.
• Staying abreast of current developments in Catechesis.
• Supporting policy development for the Catechist Service.
• Establishing and promoting networks at local, state and national levels to cultivate evangelising catechesis
