Job summary

Westpac invites a Commercial Product Manager Lead to own the governance and coordination of the Commodities Derivatives Release Train, bringing together information from product, trading, risk and technology to deliver priority initiatives safely and efficiently.

Based in Sydney with flexible work options, you’ll influence senior stakeholders, simplify processes, and drive digital, rules-based improvements while upholding strong risk controls.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in product management, governance, risk, controls, transformation or change leadership, with the ability to bring together information from multiple stakeholders and create a clear, integrated view of priorities, risks, dependencies and delivery outcomes.
• Experience working within Financial Markets, institutional banking, trading, commodities, treasury or another complex and highly regulated environment will be highly regarded, although we're also open to candidates from broader product, risk, governance or transformation backgrounds who can bring fresh perspectives and strong commercial acumen.
• Proven ability to build credibility and influence across senior stakeholders, including Product, Trading, Treasury, Risk, Compliance, Operations and Technology teams, while providing constructive challenge and navigating complex decisions with confidence and professionalism.
• A solid understanding of governance frameworks, control environments, risk management and operational readiness, with the judgement to identify gaps, elevate issues appropriately and support balanced commercial decision-making in a regulated environment.
• Curiosity for emerging technology, automation and AI, combined with the ability to work effectively alongside technology, data and engineering teams to design solutions that improve governance and decision-making. You don't need to be a technical specialist, but you'll be comfortable bridging the gap between business requirements and technology outcomes.
