Job summary

Randstad is seeking a Principal Engineer/Designer (Civil) for a contract role in the Metropolitan Region to lead end-to-end design management on major transport infrastructure projects. You will mentor junior engineers and provide strategic technical support across transport sectors.

The role is a full-time contract through 30 April 2027, focused on governance, standards, and delivering value across corridors in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2-year Dublin Accord accredited engineering degree (Civil) or recognized equivalent.
• Current C-Class Driver's Licence.
• Demonstrated civil transport infrastructure planning, design competencies, and pre-construction design reviews.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and 12d Model.
• Ability to translate strategy into team work plans and manage stakeholder expectations.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning and design projects across corridor planning, program development, delivery, and finalisation to deliver value-for-money outcomes.
• Provide high-level conceptual problem-solving, strategic guidance, and technical support across transport infrastructure.
• Ensure designs comply with legislation, policies, and quality management guidelines; review deliverables before construction.
• Build and sustain collaborative relationships with stakeholders to align expectations.
• Share expertise to develop team capabilities and drive best practice.
