Job summary

seek.com.au is seeking an experienced Crew Leader for our civil construction project in Sydney. You will lead a small to mid-size crew, coordinate daily site activities, manage subcontractors, and ensure works progress safely and to a high standard.

Responsibilities include planning, sequencing works, coordinating labour and materials, monitoring productivity, reading drawings, and conducting pre-starts and site inductions. Strong leadership and safety focus required.

Qualifications

• Experience leading civil construction crews.
• Strong knowledge of civil works and construction methods.
• Ability to plan work, coordinate resources and keep crews productive.
• Confidence reading construction drawings and specifications.
• Commitment to safety, quality and teamwork.
• Current driver’s licence and White Card.
• Plant tickets or civil construction qualifications are highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate a crew of approximately 6-15 workers and subcontractors.
• Plan and sequence allocated works.
• Coordinate labour, plant and materials.
• Monitor productivity, workmanship and resource use.
• Read and interpret construction drawings.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality and environmental requirements.
• Conduct pre-starts, toolbox talks and site inductions.
• Complete site diaries, permits, photos and other required documentation.
• Communicate progress, resource requirements and potential delays to site management.
• Mentor crew members and maintain high standards of conduct.
