Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent.
• 1–2 years of chef experience in a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, menu planning and ingredient selection.
• Knowledge of Australian cuisine and food safety regulations.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent time management and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and cook a variety of breakfast, lunch and specialty dishes.
• Oversee daily kitchen activities to ensure smooth service flow.
• Maintain consistency in portion sizes, cooking methods and presentation.
• Assist in developing and refining menu items with seasonal ingredients.
• Monitor stock levels, place orders and minimise wastage.
• Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff for efficiency and team atmosphere.
• Ensure all cooking equipment is maintained and used safely.
• Ensure food handling and storage comply with hygiene regulations.
