Job summary

BuildRight Construction AU in Queensland seeks an experienced Café Manager to lead a busy café. You will develop the team, oversee coffee preparation, and create engaging guest experiences through menus and events.

Responsibilities include managing daily operations, coaching baristas, maintaining beverage standards, training staff, coordinating events, and ensuring food safety and financial controls.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of café or restaurant management experience.
• Practical barista skills and confident use of commercial espresso equipment.
• Diploma in Hospitality required for sponsorship eligibility.
• Australian hospitality management experience after completing the required diploma for sponsorship eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Lead the daily operation of a busy café and hospitality venue.
• Coach and roster front-of-house team members.
• Hands-on with coffee preparation and maintain beverage standards.
• Train team members in barista techniques, customer service and venue procedures.
• Develop seasonal menus, daily specials and beverage selections.
• Coordinate live music, pop-ups, private functions and community events.
• Work with suppliers, performers and external partners to deliver events.
• Manage stock ordering, inventory levels and supplier relationships.
• Monitor costs and basic financial information.
• Maintain food safety, hygiene, health and workplace safety standards.
• Ensure the venue is consistently clean, organized and customer-ready.
• Respond professionally to customer feedback and resolve service issues.
• Build positive relationships with regular customers and the surrounding community.
