Job summary

Atain in North Sydney, NSW, seeks an experienced backend engineer with 10+ years of C, Pro*C, PL/SQL, and Unix development to design, develop, and maintain scalable backend solutions. You will lead a small, focused team, mentor peers, and implement High-Availability architectures to meet strict SLA while supporting real-time, 24x7 middleware systems in Linux/Unix environments.

Docker/Podman and Agile practices are a plus.

Qualifications

Over 10 years of software development experience in C, including at least 2 years in a team lead role.
Proficiency in C, Pro*C, PL/SQL, and Unix development.
Experience with Linux/Unix environments.
Familiar with Agile methodologies and Scrum practices.
Knowledge of Docker or Podman containerization.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend solutions in C & Oracle DB.
Design and implement High-Availability solutions that meet strict SLA requirements.
Maintain and support real-time, 24x7 middleware solution systems.
Build and support mission-critical, high-volume, long-running Unix server processes.
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and optimize performance and reliability issues.
Mentor team members in best practices for software development and delivery.
Produce clear technical specifications and maintain accurate documentation.
Work independently in a small, highly focused team with minimal supervision.
