Job summary

Akal Building Group in Melbourne's northern suburbs is seeking a Bricklayer to join our site team in Epping. The role involves laying bricks, blocks and stone to construct, alter and repair walls and arches on residential and commercial projects, following plans and building standards.

You will supervise one junior team member, coordinate with builders, and ensure workmanship meets safety protocols and schedules. The position offers permanent, full-time work with Melbourne-site exposure.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Bricklaying and Blocklaying or equivalent qualification.
• At least 1 year of experience working as a bricklayer.
• Ability to read and interpret building plans and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Read plans to determine layout, dimensions and material needs.
• Lay bricks/blocks/stone to construct and repair structures.
• Guide and oversee one team member on site.
• Coordinate with builders to keep projects on schedule.
• Ensure workmanship meets safety standards and site rules.
• Estimate material quantities and assist with deliveries.
