Job summary

Frankie & George Cafe in Brisbane City is seeking an experienced Head Barista to lead our coffee programme and elevate the cafe experience. This full-time role focuses on consistency, quality, and innovation in every cup, while mentoring junior baristas and overseeing daily operations.

You will drive beverage standards, manage equipment maintenance, and contribute to a warm, inclusive team culture that supports growth and exceptional guest service.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of professional barista experience.
• Recognised barista certification or equivalent qualification in coffee preparation.
• Strong leadership and mentoring skills with the ability to train and motivate team members.
• Food safety and hygiene certifications preferred.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and serving espresso-based beverages with precision and creativity.
• Leading, training and mentoring junior baristas and cafe staff.
• Managing coffee equipment maintenance and ensuring machines function optimally.
• Overseeing inventory of coffee beans, milk, syrups and supplies.
• Developing new coffee menu items and seasonal specials.
• Maintaining a clean, hygienic work environment in line with health regulations.
• Providing exceptional customer service and engaging with guests.
