Job summary

InterContinental Adelaide is seeking an experienced Bar Supervisor to lead service behind the bar, drive drink quality, and mentor the team to deliver warm, seamless and elevated hospitality.

You will be the lead bartender during service, drive stock management and cocktail training, while supporting the Shift Leader and Bar Manager. A hands-on role with minimum 24 hours weekly, in a premium hotel setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a bar or premium beverage role within a hotel, restaurant or bar environment.
• Strong cocktail knowledge and technical bartending skills.
• Experience training or mentoring team members in service or bar skills.
• Sound understanding of stock control and inventory practices.
• Responsible Service of Alcohol Certification (SA/Nationally Accredited) & Food Safety Certificate.

Responsibilities

• Lead the bar during service, preparing and serving beverages to a premium 5-star standard.
• Create a warm welcome for every guest and set a memorable tone.
• Manage drink service flow and ensure timely beverage delivery.
• Train and mentor team members in cocktail prep and bar standards.
• Maintain knowledge of cocktails, spirits, wine and promotions to drive sales.
• Support stock control including ordering, counts, rotation and minimising waste.
• Ensure bar presentation, cleanliness and organisation.
• Handle cash and credit transactions accurately.
• Work with restaurant, kitchen and leadership teams for smooth service.
• Provide on-the-floor direction and shift coordination.
