The role:

As the Lead Application Designer, you will lead the application design function, ensuring high-quality, scalable, and commercially sound solutions aligned to business and global standards. Leading a team of 5, you'll work closely with architects, engineers, vendors, and stakeholders to drive strong design governance and delivery outcomes.

What you'll be doing

• Line management, develop and coach a high-performing team of Solution Designers and Analysts
• Translate business requirements into build-ready, high-quality solution designs that are scalable, commercially sound, and aligned to local and global architecture standards
• Lead design governance, stakeholder alignment, and delivery readiness to support effective and efficient solution delivery
• Provide expert design leadership throughout delivery, resolving risks and complex design challenges to maintain quality outcomes
• Actively contribute as a member of both local and global design practice, partnering on major design decisions and promoting consistent standards, patterns, and ways of working

What we're looking for:

• Proven experience as a Line Manager providing leadership to a team of Solution Designers and Analysts, driving performance, engagement, capability development (essential)
• A minimum of five years' experience in a Senior Application Designer role or a similar position (essential)
• Strong understanding of modern architecture patterns (microservices, APIs, service-based design) essential
• Detailed experience implementing Finance, ERP and supply chain systems is preferred
• Demonstrated ability to balance technical design with commercial outcomes, delivering effective functional solutions aligned to business requirements.
• A proven commitment to continuous learning, with a focus on regular development and improvement.
• Strong stakeholder management, with the demonstrated experience influencing and collaborating effectively across local and globally located technical and business teams
