Job summary

Mantel, an Australian-owned technology consulting business, seeks Lead Business Analyst to guide AI initiatives from discovery to deployment and client adoption. The role sits in a collaborative, flat-structured team delivering cloud-focused digital solutions across Australia and New Zealand.

You will mentor junior colleagues, work with Product Owners, and help shape strategic outcomes across programs, while upholding Mantel's five principles and agile practices.

Qualifications

• Experience taking AI concepts from discovery and feasibility through to deployment and client adoption in a consultancy or fast-paced product environment.
• Deep understanding of the AI development lifecycle - including data scoping, model integration, user acceptance testing (UAT), and post-launch iteration.
• Proven ability to guide clients through the uncertainty of AI adoption, separating hype from actual ROI and setting clear guardrails for project scope.
• You live and breathe agile, with experience in enabling teams to build agility into their ways of working.
• You have a keen eye for detail, strong problem solving skills, and a well structured approach to analysis.
• You can work with ambiguity but are not afraid to ask “why” and track down answers.
• You are biased towards action and bring decision making and negotiation skills to influence stakeholders towards that same approach.
• You thrive in a collaborative environment and have demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with a range of business and technology stakeholders.
• You focus on your own personal and professional development and are comfortable with sharing any key learnings with others in your team.
• You will have strong experience across technology projects, ideally including exposure to or experience on ‘greenfield’ projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead AI initiatives from problem definition and feasibility analysis through to requirements gathering, execution, and value realisation
• Oversee the delivery lifecycle of AI-driven products, ensuring solutions meet ethical standards, user needs, and measurable business outcomes
• Translate complex client problems into viable use cases, clearly defining prompt requirements, data dependencies, and success metrics for engineering teams
• Mentor junior team members, enabling teamwork, collaboration, and knowledge sharing within the squad and key stakeholders, to drive decision-making
• Act to enable and mature the Agile business analysis capabilities within the client's program of work
• Work closely with the Product / Business Owner to drive analysis and define strategic outcomes at the Program/Product level
• Work with the client engagement and business development teams to provide presales support relating to agile analysis methods and frameworks as well as supporting the development of statements of work.
• Break large pieces of work into implementable slices that will facilitate incremental delivery
• Help develop a roadmap of features, epics and stories that articulate requirements
• Ensure that risks, dependencies, constraints, and their impact are managed appropriately and have been clearly communicated to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Adapt your approach based on the needs of the project, where you are comfortable wearing multiple hats, such as the scrum master or product owner roles, as needed
• Use professional judgement while treating colleagues and clients with respect and compassion, and a demonstrated ability to display our five Mantel principles
