Job summary

Western Health is seeking an experienced Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander leader for the Aboriginal Health Unit - Wilim Berrbang. This role will suit someone with extensive understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health, cultural safety and consumer experiences in healthcare and custodial settings.

The role has the opportunity to shape culturally safe care for the Aboriginal and Torres Strait communities utilising Western Health services.

Qualifications

• Identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander with strong community knowledge.
• Experience leading frontline health or community services.
• Deep understanding of Aboriginal health, cultural safety and consumer experiences in healthcare and custodial settings.
• Proven ability to supervise, coach and support staff in complex, demanding roles.

Responsibilities

• Lead, support and develop the Aboriginal Health Unit team across all Western Health sites.
• Provide day-to-day supervision, guidance and escalation support for complex consumer, family and service matters.
• Create, maintain and improve processes and systems that enable best practice service delivery for the Aboriginal Health Unit.
