Job summary

Naiman Clarke is partnering with one of Australia’s largest legal partnerships to recruit an Insurance Lawyer (Public Liability/Dust Disease) in Sydney. You will handle a broad range of matters, including asbestos and silicosis claims, complex public liability, workers’ compensation, and insurance indemnity, in a fast-paced environment with a substantial ongoing workload.

Qualifications

• Admitted lawyer with 2–5 years PQE in insurance litigation.
• Experience in defendant insurance litigation, workers’ compensation or dust diseases.
• Ability to manage matters with increasing independence and engage with clients.
• Strong drafting, analytical and strategic thinking.
• Capable of handling a high volume of active matters in a fast-paced practice.
• Commercial mindset with attention to detail and desire to specialise in insurance litigation.

Responsibilities

• Dust diseases litigation, including asbestos and silicosis claims.

About the role

You will be involved in a broad range of matters, including:

• Dust diseases litigation, including asbestos and silicosis claims
• Complex public liability and personal injury disputes
• Workers' compensation and workplace-related claims
• Insurance indemnity and policy interpretation matters
• Advising on liability, causation and complex medical evidence
• Acting for clients across construction, manufacturing, transport, resources and government sectors

The ideal candidate

• Admitted lawyer (2 – 5 years PQE) with experience in defendant insurance litigation, workers’ compensation or dust diseases
• Demonstrated ability to manage matters with increasing independence and confidently engage with clients
• Strong drafting, analytical and strategic thinking skills
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced practice with a significant volume of active matters
• A commercial approach and strong attention to detail
• An interest in developing specialist expertise within insurance litigation
