Suncorp Group in Australia is seeking a Lawyer to support strategic CTP insurance work on a flexible part‑time basis, with hybrid work options. Qualifications

• Current Australian practising certificate and admission as solicitor or barrister.
• 5–7+ years post‑admission experience in CTP claims and MAIC framework.
• Ability to translate complex legal matters into business‑ready advice.

Responsibilities

• Provide verbal and written legal advice on indemnity, liability, quantum and compliance for claims.
• Advise on applications and contribute to dispute resolution before relevant tribunals.
• Analyse legislative changes and communicate implications to stakeholders.
• Build internal/external relationships to deliver high‑quality legal support.
• Identify process improvements to enhance team effectiveness.

You will provide high quality legal and strategic advice to support our CTP claims teams. This role contributes to customer outcomes strengthens decision‑making across the business and supports our commitment to becoming a globally recognised insurance leader, creating exceptional customer value and building futures and protecting what matters.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work part-time (3 days per week) with a leading Trans‑Tasman Insurer.

What You’ll Do

• Provide verbal and written legal advice on indemnity, liability, quantum and compliance matters to support effective claims management and customer outcomes
• Advise on Applications and contribute to dispute resolution processes, including matters before the District Court of Qld. Or NSW Personal Injury Commission.
• Analyse legislative changes and communicate implications to stakeholders to ensure the business adapts effectively and maintains compliance
• Build productive internal and external relationships to strengthen collaboration and deliver consistent, high‑quality legal support
• Identify process improvement opportunities that enhance team effectiveness and contribute to operational efficiencies

What You’ll Bring

• A current Australian practising certificate and admission as a solicitor or barrister, enabling you to deliver specialised legal support in CTP claims.
• 5-7+ years post‑admission experience, including strong technical capability in CTP and the Motor Accident Insurance Act 1994 , Motor Accident Insurance Regulation 2018 and Guidelines issued by the Motor Accident Insurance Commission (MAIC)
• Experience simplifying complex legal matters into clear, business‑ready advice that supports efficient claim decisions and customer outcomes
• Confident written and verbal communication skills, enabling you to convey legal issues clearly and influence stakeholders across the business
• Ability to operate autonomously while exercising sound judgment and escalating appropriately within a supportive team environment
