Job summary

Woolworths Group in Sydney is seeking a Competition and Consumer Lawyer to join our in-house Legal team for a permanent, full-time role. You’ll support the Group Counsel and Senior Lawyer across competition and consumer law advisory matters in a fast-paced environment, with a hybrid working model between our Sydney hubs and home.

The role requires a Bachelor of Laws with 2–4 years PQE, strong understanding of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010, and proven ability to manage diverse files,

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Laws with 2–4 years PQE in competition & regulatory practice.
  • Experience with the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 and Australian Consumer Law.
  • Able to prioritise, manage many files, and work with internal/external stakeholders.
  • Strong communication, advice, drafting and influencing skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide competition and consumer law advice to Woolworths Group businesses.
  • Assist with merger clearances, regulatory investigations and disputes.
  • Liaise with regulators such as the ACCC and other authorities.
  • Mentor junior lawyers and contribute to team capability.

You will be a highly-motivated and confident specialist who is able to manage a range of competition and consumer law advisory matters in a fast paced business environment.Reporting to the Senior Lawyer - Competition and Consumer, you will be responsible for providing strategic, efficient, cost effective and results focused competition and consumer legal services across the operations of the Woolworths Group ecosystem.
