Confidant Partners is a professional services firm that excels in providing market-leading outsourced company secretarial, corporate legal (including outsourced GC), governance and Board advisory services for VC, pre-IPO and ASX listed entities.
There is no other firm like us in Australia.
Founded in late 2023, we have doubled in size year on year and are looking for the next generation of talent to grow our firm.
Our hybrid outsourced company secretarial and legal retainer model allows us to support clients through complex governance and regulatory requirements in a practical, commercial way. We are your trusted advisors.
This role supports our professional services team, led by our principals, senior lawyers and senior governance experts. You will report to our Principal & Chief Learning Officer.

Maintain client and internal files to a high standard and help keep matters moving to deadline
Engage with clients, founders, boards, senior management and external advisers under the guidance of senior staff
Contribute to internal precedents, templates and process improvement across our legal and CoSec workstreams
1-2 years post-qualification experience in corporate or commercial law (any in-house corporate, company secretarial or professional services experience is a plus)
Admitted to practice in Australia
An interest in combining corporate legal work with company secretarial and governance practice
A working understanding of, or genuine interest in developing knowledge of, the Corporations Act, ASX Listing Rules and corporate governance fundamentals
Strong drafting skills, precise attention to detail and a commitment to accurate work
Clear, professional written and verbal communication
Solid Microsoft 365 skills — Copilot, Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams and SharePoint (experience with automations and flows a bonus; CAS360 experience desirable)
An open mind about AI and how it's changing professional work — you understand it's part of how modern firms operate, and you're excited to learn more
A commercial, practical approach and a willingness to learn
Our business model offers a unique opportunity for lawyers interested in a career path towards a General Counsel and/or Company Secretary to accelerate their development and move meaningfully towards their career ambitions
From day one, you'll be doing real corporate legal and company secretarial work across a live client portfolio, with direct exposure to senior governance work
Our Principal & Chief Learning Officer runs a structured development program where you'll learn the full breadth of corporate legal and company secretarial work, not just one slice of it
We are market leaders in corporate legal and company secretarial services for pre-IPO and ASX listed entities
Exposure to a broad range of interesting corporate transactions and governance matters that often make their way to Boards and senior management
Early responsibility and direct client access to accelerate your development
A professional culture that takes the work seriously but keeps it light-hearted and celebrates our wins
Clear scope to grow your role as the firm and client base continues to scale
