Job summary

The Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet (PM&C) is seeking a Law Graduate for its 12-month Graduate Program in Canberra. You will gain hands-on experience supporting high-level policy and legal work, and contribute to FOI and cabinet briefing activities.

This program offers rotations across diverse areas, relocation support to Canberra, flexible working arrangements, and a clear path to permanent placement within the public service.

Qualifications

• Law degree completed within the last eight years or in final year of study.
• Strong analytical and research skills are essential.
• Ability to prepare briefs and provide policy advice.

Responsibilities

• Support the Prime Minister, the Cabinet, Portfolio Ministers, and Assistant Ministers.
• Provide advice on Cabinet Exemptions to FOI documents from consult to review.
• Contribute to policy design and implementation projects across diverse areas.
• Shadow the relevant departments through Cabinet submissions processes for meetings.
