Job summary

HammondCare North Turramurra is seeking a Perm, Part-time and Casual Laundry Attendant to join the team. Based in an aged care home, you will support our residents by delivering high quality laundry services.

Duties include 6am–2pm shifts, handling soiled linen, collecting, laundering and delivering linen to internal and external customers, and coordinating with managers to resolve laundry issues. You must have a driver licence and be adaptable.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver’s licence.
• Willingness to engage with HammondCare's Christian Mission and values.
• Experience in a laundry facility is desirable.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Understanding of safe manual handling, infection control and standard precautions.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Flexible and able to adapt to changing needs.

Responsibilities

• Early morning shifts from 6am to 2pm.
• Handle a small percentage of soiled linen.
• Collect, launder, process and deliver professionally cleaned linen to internal and external customers.
• Communicate with Managers and staff to resolve laundry-related issues promptly.
• Seek improvements and adhere to HammondCare policies and procedures.

About the Role

This role is based in an aged care home where specialised care is given to residents with dementia and complex care needs. The successful individual must feel comfortable conversing with residents and working in this environment.

• Early morning starts - 6am until 2pm
• Handle a small percentage of soiled linen
• Collect, launinder, process and delivery of professionally cleaned linen to internal and external customers.
• Communicate with Managers and other staff to ensure timely action & completion of laundry related issues.
• Actively seeks improved work methods and implements HammondCare policies and procedures relevant to the role.

About you

• MUST have Driver licence - essential

• Previous experience working in a laundry facility - desirable
• Demonstrated ability to work individually and as part of a team.
• Demonstrated understanding of safe manual handling, infection control and standard precautions.
