Job Description

ABLE LANDSCAPING PTY LTD Able Landscaping is seeking a skilled and dedicated Landscape Gardener to join our team in Pialligo ACT. The successful applicant will be responsible for constructing, planting and maintaining commercial and public gardens and landscaped areas. The role involves softscape and hardscape construction, planting, lawn preparation, irrigation installation and general landscape maintenance.

Applicants should have relevant landscape construction qualifications, practical landscaping experience and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Task & responsibilities Design and implement garden plans and construct commercial and public gardens and landscapes.

Install hardscape and softscape structures, including recreational structures and landscape features. Maintain lawns, hedges and plant growth, including weed control and removal. Maintain and rehabilitate landscaped and urban bushland areas.

Construct gravel and paved areas, walls, fences and other landscape structures. Prepare seedbeds and plant trees, bushes, hedges, flowers and bulbs. Prepare lawn areas by spreading topsoil, planting grass and laying instant turf.

Determine and install irrigation systems, including pumps and meters. Operate and maintain landscaping and gardening tools and equipment. Monitor plant health and undertake appropriate maintenance activities.

Ensure gardens and landscaped areas are maintained to a clean, safe and presentable standard. Follow workplace health and safety procedures at all times.

Qualification & experience Certificate III in Landscape Construction or a related discipline is required. Minimum 2 years of relevant experience as a Landscape Gardener or in landscape construction. Knowledge of plant care, landscape construction and garden maintenance. Experience with hardscape and softscape installation will be highly regarded.

Ability to safely operate landscaping tools and equipment. Punctual, reliable and hard-working. Excellent communication and organisational skills.

Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a team.
