Job summary

Department of Natural Resources and Mines, Manufacturing and Regional and Rural Development in Queensland is seeking a Land Research Officer (AO4) to support native title and Indigenous land matters. As a Land Research Officer (AO4) within the Tenure Analysis and Support team, State Interests, you will contribute to the administration of the Queensland Government's response to native title and compensation claims and Indigenous land matters. Your work will support fair, consistent and timely outcomes while helping manage land rights and interests across Queensland.

In this role, you will undertake tenure research and analysis, interpret land tenure information, prepare briefs, reports and court documents, and support negotiations relating to native title claims, compensation claims and Indigenous Land Use Agreements. You will research and apply legislation, policy and procedures, maintain accurate records using departmental systems, and work collaboratively with stakeholders across government, industry and Indigenous communities. You will also support senior officers by contributing to investigations, reporting and stakeholder engagement activities.

Success in this role will come from delivering high-quality research outcomes, applying sound judgement, maintaining accurate information, building effective relationships and contributing positively to a collaborative team environment. Strong analytical, communication and problem-solving skills will support your success.
