Job summary

Job description

The Natural Resource Management Officer undertakes technical assessments and provides advice on Queensland’s vegetation management framework. Working with landholders and other stakeholders across Queensland, you will provide advice, analyse information, undertake field and compliance activities and contribute to sustainable natural resource management outcomes.

As a Natural Resource Management Officer (PO2), you will contribute to the sustainable management, use and allocation of Queensland's natural resources through technical assessment, stakeholder engagement, and field-based service delivery. Working within Land and Natural Resource Management, you will support the department's legislative responsibilities across vegetation management.

In this role, you will analyse and interpret legislation, policies and technical information to provide advice and services to landholders, industry, government agencies and other stakeholders through the Vegetation Hub. You will undertake research and data analysis, prepare reports, briefing notes and technical documentation and contribute to informed decision-making on natural resource management matters.

You will also participate in fieldwork and compliance activities, including inspections, data collection and investigations, while contributing to projects and business improvement initiatives. Working both in the office and in the field, you will build productive relationships with stakeholders and support the delivery of practical, customer-focused outcomes.

Success in this role looks like delivering accurate and timely technical advice, maintaining strong stakeholder relationships, supporting effective regulatory and natural resource management outcomes and contributing to the responsible use and stewardship of Queensland's land resources.
