Job summary

North Sydney Council in Sydney's lower North Shore is seeking a reliable Labourer to join our Parks and Reserves team. You will maintain council open spaces and high-profile grounds, including mowing, planting, irrigation, weed control, turf laying and general duties.

Qualifications

• Experience in mowing, planting and grounds maintenance.
• Ability to operate basic gardening tools and machinery.
• Comfort working outdoors and in various weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Mow grass and maintain open spaces and reserves.
• Plant and mulch beds and manage irrigation.
• Identify and control weeds; lay turf.
• Remove rubbish and perform general grounds duties.
• Operate machinery as required and assist other team members.

Our 400 employees look after 77,000 residents spread across 10 square kilometres of land on the foreshores of Sydney Harbour providing spectacular harbour views, beautiful parklands and a bustling CBD.

The role

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a reliable and hard-working Labourer to join our Parks and Reserves team. This position is responsible for maintaining Council's open space areas and high-profile grounds and reserves.

Duties may include mowing, planting, irrigation, weed identification and control, laying turf, rubbish removal, mulching, pruning, watering, machinery operation and other general duties as required.

The ideal candidate will possess a passion for the environment, enjoy working outdoors, show an interest in garden maintenance, have labouring experience and most importantly, works well as part of a team.

Salary Range: $63,089 to $74,853 per annum (including industry allowance) + $1,000 pa transport allowance + 12% superannuation

• Uniform Provided - 76 hours per fortnight with a rostered day off
