Job summary

Maxima has multiple vacancies for motivated Labourers to gain industry experience and build a long-term career within the council. Roles start on a casual basis, generally for up to 6 months, with a pathway to a direct council position.

Depots in Boonah, Beaudesert and Canungra aim to place you near home. Duties include road maintenance, pothole patching, plant operation support, traffic control, and assisting tradespeople in a team-oriented environment.

Qualifications

• MR Truck Licence required.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment medical including Drug and Alcohol screening.

Maxima has a large number of vacancies for motivated Labourers, who want to develop their skills, gain valuable industry experience and build a long-term career.

Working through Maxima, you will initially commence on a casual basis, generally for a maximum period of up to 6 months, with the opportunity to transition to a position directly with council.

With Council depots located at Boonah, Beaudesert and Canungra, every effort will be made to place you at a depot that is as close to home as possible.

About the Roles

Opportunities are available across Civil Works and Parks & Gardens Maintenance, giving you the opportunity to develop practical skills while working as part of a professional Council team.

Working a 76-hour fortnight (Over 9 days) with the possibility of overtime.

Duties include:

• Road signs and road furniture maintenance
• Cold mix bitumen pothole patching
• Operating and assisting with plant and equipment
• Traffic control and work zone activities
• Supporting experienced operators and tradespeople

Minimum Skills and Experience

To be successful in attaining a role, you will need to have:

• An MR Truck Licence (or higher)

• A willingness to learn and grow as part of a team
• A commitment to working safely
