Job summary

Tablelands Regional Council is seeking a reliable person for the Malanda Parks & Gardens team to undertake outdoor duties including weeding, brush cutting and watering. A casual position will involve operating mower equipment and herbicide control as needed.

The role emphasizes safety, teamwork and pride in public spaces, with opportunities to gain diverse training and progression in local government. Applicants from all backgrounds are welcome.

Qualifications

• Mandatory Construction Induction card (White/Blue) required.
• Traffic Control and Traffic Management certifications required or desirable.
• Safe handling of sharps and infectious waste required.
• Experience with working near traffic and in outdoor environments is preferred.
• First Aid & CPR certifications are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Perform weeding, brush cutting, herbicide control and watering to maintain public spaces.
• Operate mowers and related equipment as required.
• Follow safety procedures and wear PPE as provided.
• Contribute to teamwork and flexible scheduling in a casual position.

Our Malanda Parks & Gardens team is looking for a reliable, hardworking and safety-conscious individual who enjoys practical outdoor work and takes pride in maintaining our public spaces. This casual position will undertake a variety of parks and gardens duties, including weeding, brush cutting, herbicide control and watering, with opportunities to operate mowers, commercial plant and equipment as required.
