Job summary

McNab seeks Labourers to support site teams across a range of general labouring and construction activities. You’ll work with various materials, tools, plant and equipment, helping keep sites safe, organized and productive.

Projects span Toowoomba, Brisbane, Sunshine Coast and Gold Coast, including high-rise apartments and commercial developments. As part of a skilled team, you’ll gain exposure to different construction types and contribute to keeping projects moving while maintaining McNab’s

Qualifications

• Minimum 12 months’ experience in a similar building or construction role.
• Current driver’s licence and reliable transport.
• Physically fit and willing to complete a functional assessment.
• Safety-focused attitude and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Performing general construction and labouring duties.
• Operating hand and power tools, plant and construction equipment.
• Loading, unloading and safely handling construction materials.
• Assisting with site setup, preparation, clean-up and site presentation.
• Completing measuring, marking out and other construction activities as directed.
• Supporting trades and site teams to keep the project moving.

Job description

As a Labourer with McNab, you’ll support our site teams across a range of general labouring, site preparation and construction activities. You’ll work with different materials, tools, plant and equipment while helping keep our sites safe, organised and productive.

With projects spanning Toowoomba, Brisbane, the Sunshine Coast and the Gold Coast, you could find yourself working on a range of projects from high-rise apartments and residential developments to commercial and retail projects, industrial facilities, hotels, aged care and retirement living, education and specialised facilities.

No two projects are the same, giving you the opportunity to build your experience, broaden your skills and gain exposure to different types of construction. You’ll work alongside experienced trades and site professionals, playing an important role in keeping the project moving and maintaining the standards McNab is known for.

With a strong pipeline of work across South East Queensland, we’re always interested in meeting experienced Labourers who want to build their skills and their career with McNab.

The work

Depending on the project, your day-to-day work may include:

• Performing general construction and labouring duties
• Operating hand and power tools, plant and construction equipment
• Loading, unloading and safely handling construction materials
• Assisting with site setup, preparation, clean-up and site presentation
• Completing measuring, marking out and other construction activities as directed
• Supporting trades and site teams to keep the project moving
• Maintaining safe, productive and quality work areas

What we’re looking for

We’re looking for Labourers who have:

• Minimum 12 months’ experience in a similar building or construction role
• Construction White Card (Forklift, Telehandler or Traffic Control, are advantageous)
• Current driver’s licence and reliable transport
• Physically fit and willingness to complete a functional assessment
• A reliable, safety-focused approach to work
• Good attention to detail and pride in the quality of your work
• The ability to work effectively as part of a construction team
