Job summary

McNab is seeking skilled Carpenters to work across commercial, industrial and residential construction in South East Queensland. You will apply framing, formwork, wall/ceiling systems and fit-outs on diverse projects, with opportunities to advance into leadership roles as you gain experience.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Carpentry or Wall & Ceiling Lining completed.
• Experience in commercial construction, fit-outs or building projects.
• High workmanship standards and strong trade skills.
• Construction White Card is required.
• Current driver's licence and reliable transport.
• Safety-focused and detail-oriented; able to work in a team or independently.

Responsibilities

• Complete general carpentry, framing and formwork activities.
• Install metal stud framing, suspended ceilings and wall sheeting.
• Finish setting, cladding, flooring and structural carpentry.
• Read and interpret construction drawings and specs.
• Prepare material take-offs and follow project requirements.
• Install seismic framing and bracing systems.
• Support commercial and residential fit-outs and maintenance.
• Work safely with tools, equipment and materials.

Job description

As a Carpenter with McNab, you'll work across a range of commercial, industrial and residential construction projects across South East Queensland. You'll use your trade skills across framing, formwork, wall and ceiling systems, fit-outs and other construction activities, depending on the project. With a strong pipeline of work, you could find yourself working on commercial and industrial facilities, multi-rise developments, social housing, residential projects and / or fit-outs.

The work

Depending on your trade and the project, your day-to-day work may include:

• Completing general carpentry, framing and formwork activities
• Installing metal stud framing, suspended ceilings and wall and ceiling sheeting
• Completing setting, finishing, cladding, flooring and structural carpentry
• Reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications
• Completing material take-offs and working from project requirements
• Installing seismic framing and bracing systems
• Supporting commercial and residential fit-outs, maintenance and defect works
• Working safely with tools, equipment and construction materials

What we're looking for

We're looking for trade-qualified Carpenters and Ceilings & Partitions tradespeople who have:

• Certificate III in Carpentry or Certificate III in Wall & Ceiling Lining
• Relevant experience across commercial construction, fit-outs or building projects
• Strong trade skills and a high standard of workmanship
• Construction White Card
• Current driver's licence and reliable transport
• A reliable, safety-focused approach to work
• Good attention to detail and pride in the quality of your work
• The ability to work effectively as part of a construction team and independently when required
