Job summary

GAP Group Limited in Hobart is seeking a proactive Labourer to join our Non-Mechanical Division. You will help keep the workshop and yard clean, safe, and ready for hire, while supporting the wider team across construction, utilities, and infrastructure projects.

In this hands-on role you will assist with loading/unloading, prepare equipment for hire, and contribute to a safe, efficient depot environment, with real opportunities for career progression within a growing business.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a labourer role, ideally within a hire depot or yard.
• Strong team player with a willingness to support colleagues.
• Ability to work independently and use initiative in a busy environment.
• High attention to detail and commitment to safety standards.
• CSCS card, forklift licence, and driving licence are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Keep the workshop and yard clean, tidy, and hazard-free
• Clean equipment and store it in an orderly fashion
• Quality-check equipment before hire to ensure it's ready
• Assist with general workshop duties as required
• Carry out driving duties (subject to licence) and assist Drivers with loading/unloading
• Operate forklift when necessary

What You'll Be Doing

• Keeping the workshop and yard clean, tidy, and hazard-free
• Cleaning equipment and store it in an orderly fashion
• Quality-checking equipment before it leaves the depot to ensure it's hire-ready
• Assisting with general workshop duties as required
• Carrying out driving duties (subject to licence) and assisting Drivers and customers with loading and unloading vehicles
• Operating forklift when necessary
