Job summary

Cairns Regional Council is building a pool of casual construction and road labourers to support crews across the Cairns region. This role offers flexible hours and the chance to pick up work on Council projects, covering leave and assisting teams as required.

Ideal candidates are reliable, comfortable working outdoors in a physical role, safety-focused and team players with experience in construction or civil works. Pre-employment checks will apply, including Police history and medical tests.

Qualifications

• Experience in construction, civil works, roadworks or general labouring.
• Safety-focused and able to follow site rules.
• Physically able to perform manual labour in outdoor environments.

Responsibilities

• Support road construction and maintenance projects.
• Provide extra hands on civil and infrastructure projects.
• Cover planned and unplanned staff leave as needed.
• Support busy crews when workloads increase.
• Assist with general construction, maintenance and labouring activities.

Salary Range: $32.91 - $33.35 per hour + casual loading
