Job summary

CivilandScape is seeking an experienced general labourer to support landscape and civil projects around Sydney, NSW. You will work on high-end residential sites and large city centre commercial projects, presenting well and liaising with clients as required.

The role requires a minimum of three years’ experience, knowledge of WHSE practices, and a current White Card NSW. Daily tasks include site clean-up, assisting trades, and material handling on varied sites around inner Sydney and outer

Job description

CivilandScape has recently created an opening for an experienced general labourer who has worked in the landscape and civil space or similar. The successful candidate will be working around Sydney’s inner city and outer suburbs providing services to a divers range of projects from high end residential to high-rise city centre commercial projects. CivilandScape are looking for a knowledgeable, well presented and diligent applicant to immediately join our team.

PREREQUISITES

The candidate must fulfill the following prerequisites to be able to apply for this position:

• 3 years’ experience minimum
• Have a sound understanding of WHSE and operate in line with NSW WHSE practices
• Current White Card NSW

THE ROLE

The role generally requires the candidate to be someone who:

• Present well in their attire and manner particularly when liaising with clients and in front of the general public
• Operates efficiently, diligently and who can work independently unsupervised
• Has good communication skills when liaising with the team and our clients’

The role entails the following daily / weekly duties :

• Generally assisting foreman, tradesman and other colleagues with day-to-day tasks
• Clean work areas from debris and other construction materials
• Construct walkways and patios, walls, fences, decks, posts, etc
• Dig ditches or trenches and perform land clearing activities
• Plant and maintain garden beds and lawnsLoad and unload materials, tools, and equipment required to complete landscape
• Transport materials using shovels, wheelbarrows, carts, dollies, and hand lifting/carrying
• Perform preventative maintenance on tools and equipment by conducting inspections,
• Lubricating and cleaning machines and tools on a daily basis
• Operate various tools including: chainsaws, jackhammers, laser levels, measurement
• Equipment, shovels, hammers, drills, etc

ROLE OFFER

• Working hours are generally between 7:00am and 3:30pm from Monday to Friday with overtime and Saturday when required
• Annual salary will be based on experience
