Job summary

SGS Australia in West Wyalong is seeking a Laboratory Technician to prepare and analyse samples accurately, safely and on time in a fast-paced lab environment. This hands-on role emphasizes quality, teamwork and safety.

You will work with AAS and ICP techniques, maintain equipment, ensure QC, and deliver quality samples to internal and external customers, while complying with safety and site access requirements. Prior lab experience is preferred and a current driver’s licence is desirable.

Qualifications

• Previous laboratory experience preferred.
• Current First Aid Certificate desirable.
• Current drivers licence required.
• Physically fit to perform tasks.
• Meet site access requirements (training, induction and medical checks).

Responsibilities

• Understand and perform preparation and analysis of samples by AAS and ICP.
• Maintain analytical and sample preparation equipment.
• Deliver quality samples to internal and external customers.
• Follow assay methods and recognize sample types.
• Complete QC and process paperwork accurately.

Job Description

Join our West Wyalong team as a Laboratory Technician, where you’ll help prepare and analyse samples accurately, safely and on time. This is a hands‑on role suited to someone who enjoys working in a fast‑paced laboratory environment, takes pride in quality work and values teamwork and safety.

Responsibilities

• Understanding of the processes in the preparation and analysis of samples by AAS and ICP.
• Day to day upkeep of analytical and sample preparation equipment.
• Delivery of quality samples to both internal and external customers.
• Understanding of assay methods and recognition of sample types.
• All functions to be performed in correct numerical order, while adopting QC requirements and avoiding potential contamination.
• Expected to completed QC and process paperwork adequately.
