Evolve Scientific in Australia is seeking a dynamic Laboratory Supervisor to drive growth, lead the team, and ensure our environmental and occupational testing services meet the highest standards. Based in Darwin, relocation is encouraged; this permanent role offers a pathway to advance.

You will oversee daily lab operations, manage resources, ensure calibration and QA with NATA/ISO, mentor staff, and develop client relationships to expand the business.

Formación

• Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science, Chemistry, or similar discipline.
• Must have prior experience in lab operations of a NATA accreditated laboratory environment and a strong technical background.
• Experience in an environmental laboratory is highly ideal.
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
• Teamwork skills and ability to mentor junior staff.

Responsabilidades

• Oversee daily lab operations, resource allocation, and instrument performance
• Monitor workflow and reassign tasks to meet turnaround times
• Ensure equipment calibration and maintenance are completed on schedule
• Adapt to changing priorities and perform additional duties as needed e.g. laboratory benchwork
• Lead team management processes
• Conduct regular check‑ins and performance reviews
• Create and maintain development plans for all team members
• Mentor and coach staff
• Maintain staffing levels and support a positive team culture
• Build and maintain strong client relationships
• Act as first contact for clients
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities
• Provide client visit reports and maintain client insights
• Ensure compliance with NATA, ISO, and internal QMS requirements
• Support method improvements and audit readiness
• Identify and implement process improvements
• Encourage team ideas for workflow optimisation
• Support evaluation and validation of new methods and technologies
