Job summary

Karreman Quarries is seeking an experienced Construction Materials Testing (CMT) professional to independently manage our NATA-accredited laboratory at Harlin Quarry. This autonomous, single-person role offers genuine freedom to organise daily operations, testing priorities and workload.

Regular travel between Harlin and Mt Cotton to deliver samples suits someone who enjoys driving and variety. The role offers a company vehicle and full-time employment in Queensland.

Qualifications

• Minimum four years’ experience in construction materials testing.
• Certificate IV in a relevant laboratory discipline is required; Diploma preferred.
• Sound knowledge of Australian standards and construction materials testing.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage daily sampling, testing, quality control and reporting.
• Test soils, roadbase, aggregates and other quarry materials.
• Monitor production and maintain accurate test, equipment and quality records.
• Transport samples between Harlin and Mt Cotton as required.
• Maintain compliance with relevant standards and quality requirements.
• Liaise with quarry operations and escalated technical matters when necessary.

You will report directly to the company QA & Laboratories Manager.

Regular travel between Harlin and Mt Cotton to deliver samples makes this position ideal for someone who enjoys driving and variety in their working week.

ABOUT YOU

• Certificate IV minimum in a relevant laboratory discipline; Diploma preferred.
• Sound knowledge of Australian Standards and construction materials testing.
• TMR specifications and NATA laboratory experience highly regarded.
• Independent judgement, strong organisation and clear communication.
• Current Queensland driver licence.
