Construction Sciences is seeking an experienced Senior Construction Materials Testing Technician to join our Kingston, QLD team. The role focuses on soil and concrete testing across laboratory and field operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Australian Standards.

About the Roles

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Construction Materials Testing Technician to join our team in Kingston, QLD.

The role will focus primarily on soil & concrete testing across laboratory and field operations.

You’ll work across local civil and infrastructure projects, carrying out testing, supporting less experienced Technicians and helping ensure testing is completed safely, accurately and in accordance with relevant Australian Standards and project requirements.

What you’ll be doing

• Field and laboratory testing of soil, concrete and other construction materials
• Work independently across field and laboratory testing, troubleshoot testing issues and provide support and guidance to less experienced Technicians.
• Operating Nuclear Densometers and other specialised testing equipment
• Recording and reporting test results accurately
• Working to Australian Standards, quality requirements and company procedures
• Maintaining and checking field and laboratory equipment
• Liaising with clients, supervisors and project teams
• Supporting and mentoring less experienced Technicians where required

What We’re Looking For

• Strong experience in construction materials testing, particularly soils
• Current Nuclear Densometer Licence
• Experience working with relevant Australian Standards and testing procedures
• Cert III or IV in Laboratory Techniques – preferred
• Current Australian Driver Licence – manual preferred
• Strong safety awareness and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Good communication skills and ability to deal confidently with clients
• Australian working rights suitable for permanent full-time employment
