Job summary

Wilmar Sugar Australia Limited is seeking a Laboratory Coordinator in North Queensland to lead the laboratory team and oversee the analysis of sugarcane samples. You will manage workflows, ensure accuracy, and maintain safety and quality standards across the lab.

The role involves mentoring technicians, coordinating operations, and supporting the crushing season with reliable data and efficient lab practices. A relevant degree and hands-on lab experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in chemistry or biology.
• Experience in a laboratory environment.
• Experience in the food or agricultural industry preferred.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily laboratory operations: manage workflows, scheduling and timely/accurate analysis of samples.
• Lead and mentor a team of lab technicians and manage performance.
• Ensure safety, quality and environmental compliance in the lab.
• Maintain calibration, maintenance and repair of equipment; manage supplies inventory.
• Collaborate with operations teams to inform decisions from lab results.
