Job summary

Clough Ltd. invites applications for Laboratory Lead on the Snowy 2.0 project based in NSW. The role oversees construction materials testing on soils, aggregates, rock, grout and concrete, supervising a team and coordinating with internal departments and subcontractors.

You will report on testing activities, issue reports, ensure compliance with quality management systems, and support continuous improvement while working in remote, challenging environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering technology or related field and 5 years of laboratory tests on construction/geotechnical materials.
• White Card.
• Experience supervising and reporting on construction materials testing.
• Construction project experience preferred.
• Understanding of Australian and International Standards for concrete and earthworks.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong teaching and coaching skills.
• Ability to lead a team.

Responsibilities

• Knowledge of laboratory testing of soils, aggregates and concrete in a safe and quality-driven manner.
• Manage the laboratory team of technicians and scheduling.
• Coordinate activities with other departments and subcontracted labs.
• Prepare daily shift reports and approve reports.
• Data management and analysis.
• Oversee training and utilization of staff.
• Maintain laboratory and equipment cleanliness and calibrations.
• Evaluate performance and support professional growth.
• Ensure worksheets and reports are prepared for clients and subcontractors.
• Promote continuous quality monitoring and improvement.
