Job summary

Monash Health is recruiting a Laboratory Assistant/ Clerical Worker to support specimen reception in Pathology Services. You will perform specimen preparation under supervision and manage data entry in the laboratory information system.

Join a 24-hour roster across Monash locations, with opportunities to develop clerical and laboratory skills while delivering accurate reports and maintaining a clean, safe work environment.

Qualifications

• Diploma of Laboratory Technology or recognised equivalent would be an advantage (desirable)
• Advanced keyboard and data entry skills.
• Standard written and advanced verbal communication.
• General office skills involving photocopying, filing and archiving records.
• Good customer relations abilities.
• Previous experience in a laboratory highly regarded

Responsibilities

• Specimen preparation under supervision.
• Data entry into the laboratory information system.
• Maintenance of the laboratory's cleanliness and functionality.
• Deliver printed reports and respond to phone calls.
• Assist with general data management and billing procedures.
• Part of a 24-hour roster that rotates to other Monash locations as needed.
• Flexibility to work across a range of sites.
• Health and Safety are essential requirements and PPE is provided.
