Job summary

ALS Geochemistry in Orange is seeking Laboratory Assistants to join a team delivering high-quality results in a fast-paced environment. The role involves weighing, digesting or fusing geological samples, calibrating equipment and maintaining records across two rosters.

This is a full-time, on-site position based in Orange, NSW. You must reside nearby with Australian work rights. Training will be provided on the job, and flexibility to work weekends/public holidays is required.

Qualifications

• A tertiary qualification in Chemistry or related field is desirable but not essential.
• Experience in a high-production laboratory is highly regarded.
• Basic understanding of analytical chemistry concepts.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Strong commitment to safety and adherence to HSE guidelines.
• Excellent organisational, time management, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Weigh, digest or fuse geological samples for analysis.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation.
• Calibrate and maintain laboratory instrumentation and equipment.
• Assess data quality to ensure it meets client reporting standards.
• General housekeeping, including cleaning laboratory equipment, glassware and area.
• Perform sample preparation and manual handling may be required
