Job summary

Intertek Envirolab is hiring a Casual Laboratory Assistant for our brand-new Perth facility in Canning Vale. This entry-level role offers flexible hours from 8 am to 7 pm Monday to Friday, with a minimum of 30 hours per week, and on-site parking.

You will perform sample sorting, weighing, and preparation, operate LM2 Pulverising Mill and Jaw Crusher, assist chemists, and maintain safety standards in a supportive, career-building environment.

Responsibilities

• Sort, weigh and split samples (liquid and solid).

• Prepare client container orders for dispatch.
• Maintain warehouse cleanliness and manage waste disposal.
• Adhere to all safety PPE requirements.

About The Role

We are currently looking for a Casual Laboratory Assistant to join our team at our brand-new Perth facility, located in Canning Vale. This modern laboratory and office space offers the latest technology, on-site parking, and contemporary amenities designed for comfort and efficiency. This is an entry-level position with flexible hours available Monday to Friday, ideally between 8 am and 7:00 pm (minimum 30 hours per week). Afternoon availability is preferred. The role is physically active and hands-on, involving moderate lifting and manual handling. It’s a great opportunity for someone looking to start or grow their career in laboratory work within a supportive and safety-focused environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform sample sorting, weighing, and splitting of both liquid and solid sample types
• Operate laboratory machinery including the LM2 Pulverising Mill and Jaw Crusher
• Support Laboratory chemists and technicians with day-to-day activities
• Prepare client container orders for dispatch
• Maintain warehouse cleanliness and manage waste disposal
• Adhere to all laboratory safety protocols and PPE requirements

About You

The ideal candidate will possess:

• Interest in science and laboratory work
• Reliable, hardworking, and punctual
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Proactive attitude and strong attention to detail
• A team player with good communication skills
• BSc or Certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques is advantageous but not required
