Job summary

The Institute of Life Courses and Medical Sciences is seeking a full-time Technician to provide efficient technical support to research teams on the main campus. You will operate and maintain laboratory equipment, assist in lab management, and help train students and staff.

There is an emphasis on hands-on learning and flexibility, with occasional duties in other laboratories and potential involvement in animal-model research. The role is based on a 35-hour week.

Qualifications

• Efficient technical service to support academic research teams.
• Education to BTEC National level or equivalent in a relevant area.
• Willingness to learn and develop hands-on skills.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to technical services and operation/maintenance of equipment.
• Assist with general laboratory management and training of students and staff.
• Support research programs involving animal models.
• Occasionally undertake duties in other Institute laboratories by prior arrangement.
