Job summary

Mater Research is seeking a Lab and Operations Officer to support laboratory and office environments at Aubigny Place and TRI campuses. The role is permanent and full-time, with an hourly salary and access to not-for-profit packaging and benefits.

You will coordinate day-to-day operations, maintain records, support users and manage service requests, while ensuring safety and compliance across facilities in South Brisbane.

Qualifications

• Qualification and/or demonstrated experience in laboratory operations or facilities coordination.
• Experience coordinating operational activities, maintenance, service requests and resources.
• Ability to identify and resolve operational issues and improve processes.
• Experience maintaining accurate records and documentation; proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Strong written and verbal communication with researchers and stakeholders.
• Commitment to the Mission and Values of the Mater Group and Governance requirements.
• Desirable: PC2 laboratory or regulated facility experience; equipment management or inventory coordination would be highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate day-to-day laboratory and facilities operations.
• Maintain operational records and systems across campuses.
• Support laboratory users and coordinate routine service requests.
• Coordinate maintenance with external providers and contractors.
• Contribute to laboratory safety and operational processes.
• Collaborate with the Lab and Safety Manager and stakeholders to keep spaces safe and fit for purpose.
