Job summary

NVITAFE is seeking a Koorie Student Support role to empower Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander learners across the Ovens and Murray region. You will foster strong ties with students, families, schools and local services to create culturally appropriate pathways and scholarships.

The role reports to and leads two Koorie Student Support Officers, partnering with teaching teams and Student Support Services to improve participation and outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in educational environments.
• Experience engaging with local community groups and services.
• Ability to support culturally safe education pathways with families and communities.

Responsibilities

• Support and empower Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students across campuses.
• Build relationships with students, families, schools and service providers.
• Lead and supervise two Koorie Student Support Officers and collaborate with staff.
